The Charge of the Light Brigade

I

Half a league, half a league,
Half a league onward,
All in the valley of Death
   Rode the six hundred.
“Forward, the Light Brigade!
Charge for the guns!” he said.
Into the valley of Death
   Rode the six hundred.
II
“Forward, the Light Brigade!”
Was there a man dismayed?
Not though the soldier knew
   Someone had blundered.
   Theirs not to make reply,
   Theirs not to reason why,
Theirs but to do and die.
   Into the valley of Death
   Rode the six hundred.
III
Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon in front of them
   Volleyed and thundered;
Stormed at with shot and shell,
Boldly they rode and well,
Into the jaws of Death,
Into the mouth of hell
   Rode the six hundred.
IV
Flashed all their sabres bare,
Flashed as they turned in air
Sabring the gunners there,
Charging an army, while
   All the world wondered.
Plunged in the battery-smoke
Right through the line they broke;
Cossack and Russian
Reeled from the sabre stroke
   Shattered and sundered.
Then they rode back, but not
   Not the six hundred.
V
Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon behind them
   Volleyed and thundered;
Stormed at with shot and shell,
While horse and hero fell.
They that had fought so well
Came through the jaws of Death,
Back from the mouth of hell,
All that was left of them,
   Left of six hundred.
VI
When can their glory fade?
O the wild charge they made!
   All the world wondered.
Honour the charge they made!
Honour the Light Brigade,
   Noble six hundred!

2) Write a paragraph of your opinion about war:-
     Why did war happen?
What are the effects of war?
Besides war, how can a citizen show his/her sense of patriotism towards the country?

FROM THE TOP OF OUR BLOG, WE HAVE SHOWED YOU A FEW OF THE WAR IN THIS EARTH. WHY DID WAR HAPPEN??? WHAT ARE THE EFFECT OF WAR??  ACTUALLY, I CANNOT ANSWER THIS QUESTION BECAUSE I AM NOT ONE OF THE PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN WAR GENERATION.. MAYBE THE PEOPLE WHO WAS BEING IN THAT SITUATION CAN ANSWER THAT QUESTION.. SO THAT, I HAVE BEEN DOWNLOAD ONE OF THE VIDEO OF DOCUMENTARY OF MALAYA WAR.. I HOPE ALL OF YOU CAN UNDERSTAND OF SITUATION OF WHAT THEY FEEL IN WAR..

HOW DID YOU FEEL?? ARE YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT HAVE THEY FACE IN WAR?? IT'S NOT ONLY ABOUT A SACRIFICE OF THE PEOPLE IN WAR BUT IT'S ABOUT A HOW CITIZEN THEY SHOW THEIR OBEY FAITHFUL TO THE STATE.

QUESTION; BESIDES WAR, HOW CAN A CITIZEN SHOW HIS/HER SENSE OF PATRIOTISM TOWARDS THE COUNTRY???

ANSWER; BESIDES WAR, CITIZEN SHOW HIS/ HER SENSE OF PATRIOTISM TOWARDS THE COUNTRY BY Showing patriotism revolves around devotion to one's country, or cultural attachment to one's homeland, and involves tasks as simple as waving a state's flag, wearing a representation of the flag, volunteering for civil services or enlisting in the military. Engaging in a cultural festival, such as Cinco De Mayo, is a display of patriotism for Mexicans, connecting their ancestry to a historical event in celebration.Voting is also a display of patriotism, and it is also considered a civil duty to help maintain or change government. Activities that support active troops, political rallies and fundraising for veterans are also displays of patriotism. Patriotism is derived from nationalism, an attachment of one's identity to his country, and involves social conditioning to support a state's decisions.

Question...

 Dear Madam,

I am not sure of what is going on with my life. People see me as someone cheerful, but deep down, I am just a miserable being. I han suffering from sleepless nights. I have trouble paying attention in class. I often feel left out, I think my friends hate me. I am not as pretty as they are, what more in academic. I want to be accepted, but I don't know what to do. My parents are so busy at work, they seldom have time to talk to me. Sometimes, I am so glad that they are not around, because when they are with me, I am not being my true self. I am afraid of showing my true colour to them as I know, they will not like it at all.

Help me, please.
Dee.

********

We need to help her, but what should we do?

I think, many of us have this kind of problem. It is a part of growing up. So, as an understanding friend, write a letter to Dee. In your letter,
  • suggest THREE ways to deal with her problems
  • include some motivational quotes (it is best if you can add a motivational video on youtube since this is an electronic letter you are giving her
Your letter must be in a continuous form and should not be less than 250 words (approximately 4-5 paragraph). Write it as an entry for your blog.

It's a normal thing when we have a problem, especially the teenagers. So, we must handle this problem with a good thinking.
